Espresso is not a type of coffee bean or an Italian style of roasting coffee, it is a technique of making coffee using hot water under pressure. The concentrated coffee pours like warm honey from the spout and a number of coffee beverages can be made from the shot. Espresso based coffees are defined by the proportion of espresso to milk and are briefly outlined as follows:
| Espresso: | 1 part espresso to 0 parts milk (typically 60ml for a double shot as served at Caloroso) |
| Macchiato: | 1 part espresso to 12th part milk (macchiato means to stain or touch in Italian) |
| Cappuccino: | 1 part espresso to 3 parts milk (we serve a flat white style; an Australianterm which describes micro-textured milk poured level to the rim of the cup) |
| Cafe latte: | 1 part espresso to 7 parts milk (literally meaning milky coffee in Italian; also made in the flat white style) |

We don't use tea bags at all, save those for a cuppa at home. Looking for a light meal? Along with a selection of cakes and pastries, we do all day breakfasts and a number of interesting salads, ciabatta panini, wraps and quiches.
